Detroit has opted to make its last stand this season, standing pat in the offseason with its talented veteran squad. Cabrera will again pace a potent offense, backed by Victor Martinez, Ian Kinsler and Justin Upton. The quartet combined for 124 homers, and a healthy J.D. Martinez can add further to that total.
Cy Young Award runner-up Justin Verlander fronts a quality starting rotation that includes AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer, who went 11-7 in 2016. If lefties Daniel Norris and Matt Boyd continue to impress behind Jordan Zimmermann, the Tigers could have a top-notch rotation. Francisco Rodriguez will close again after notching 44 saves in 2016.
