Sabres Team Report
(Sat, 21 Nov 2009 00:39:53 PST)
February's Olympic Games—regarded as the most anticipated hockey tournament in history—could be a distraction to the players involved. Sabres general manager Darcy Regier, though, sees it as goaltender Ryan Miller's main motivator.
Miller has been stellar so far as Buffalo has opened the season 12-5-2. He has been in the top two for goals-against average and save percentage since allowing only two goals in his first three games. He's a lock to make Team USA and has the inside track for the starting job over Boston's Tim Thomas. Miller lost to Boston and Thomas' backup, Tuukka Rask, 2-1 in overtime Friday.
"We are getting some of the benefit of him looking forward to the Olympics," Regier said on "The NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman" on Sirius XM Radio.
