A Finnish court fined former NHL player Jere Karalahti $1,900 on Monday for using cocaine last year. Just when the Predators appeared to have their penalty problems under control, they had too much bad behavior Saturday night against Minnesota as they lost their third straight game on home ice.
Monday night, the Predators are back on the road at Buffalo. The road has usually been more kind to the Predators than home ice at times in the past despite enthusiastic crowds at the Sommet Center.

The Florida Panthers acquired center Nick Tarnasky from the Nashville Predators on Thursday for right wing Wade Belak. The 24-year-old Tarnasky had an assist and 17 penalty minutes in 11 games for Nashville this season. The 32-year-old Belak had no points and 25 penalty minutes in 15 games for Florida this season.

Nashville captain Jason Arnott was in the starting lineup Friday night for the Predators' game against Tampa Bay, just four days after a scary on-ice collision that resulted in a neck strain. Arnott was taken off the ice on a stretcher Monday night after he and San Jose's Joe Pavelski collided and crashed into the net as they charged toward the puck.
