A Finnish court fined former NHL player Jere Karalahti $1,900 on Monday for using cocaine last year. The Helsinki City Court found Karalahti guilty of using cocaine in March 2007, based on a photograph found on a laptop of a friend. The photo shows a white, powdery substance in Karalahti's nose. The Kings' goaltending seems to be stabilizing—not that it's making things any easier for coach Terry Murray.
Jason LaBarbera started the first 10 games of the season and was mediocre at best. Erik Ersberg started the next 10 and put up much better numbers, although he also benefited from an improved defense that limited scoring chances.
On Wednesday, in the second of a back-to-back games situation, the Kings went back to LaBarbera, who started a game for the first time since Nov. 1 and stopped 22 shots in the Kings' 2-1 victory over Edmonton.

Los Angeles Kings forward John Zeiler was suspended three games without pay by the NHL on Monday for ramming Colorado defenseman Adam Foote into the boards during the second period of a 4-3 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night. Zeiler was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct following the hit, which occurred at 6:51 of the second period.
