Flyers Team Report

Ray Emery's quick start to the season has attracted a lot of interest throughout the NHL, and among the intrigued are Team Canada managers Steve Yzerman and Kevin Lowe. Both were in attendance for Friday night's game between the Flyers and Sharks, but Emery did not account well for himself, allowing all six goals in a 6-3 defeat.

Emery has garnered some Olympic consideration because of his 11-5-1 start, but with Martin Brodeur and Roberto Luongo in the mix, he might only be in the running as a backup.

However, Flyers centers Mike Richards and Jeff Carter are pushing hard for spots, and defenseman Chris Pronger is a lock to be on the Canadians' blue line. Carter, who admits playing in the Olympics has been "in the back of my mind" all season, picked an inopportune time...

Dany Heatley scored a hat trick as the San Jose Sharks thumped the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 in the NHL on Friday. Heatley notched his second hat trick of the season, and the ninth of his career. Manny Malhotra, Ryane Clowe and Patrick Marleau also scored for the Sharks, who are 7-0-2 at home.
