Devils Team Report
(Mon, 15 Mar 2010 03:10:38 PDT)
The Devils are at it again.
Just when you thought this team was back on a roll, the inconsistency that has hampered it so often this season reared its ugly head on Long Island Saturday night.
Instead of the first three-game winning streak since December and instead of tying Pittsburgh for first place in the Atlantic Division, the Devils made it 8-13-2 in their last 23 games.
While the built-in excuse of the third game in four nights was there, so was the effort early on, and all NHL teams are playing hectic schedules these days after the Olympic break.
"After winning two big, pretty emotional games (against the Rangers and the Penguins) and coming in here, a team we should beat, and lose a pretty important game," said left wing Zach Parise.

Sim, Streit strike to lift Isles over Devils
(Sat, 13 Mar 2010 19:50:28 PST)
The New Jersey Devils blamed the power play and not an absence of focus for a disappointing loss to the sliding New York Islanders. Coming off a win over Atlantic Division-leading Pittsburgh on Friday night, the Devils had a chance to move into a tie for first place by beating the also-ran Islanders.

Kovalchuk helps Devils beat Penguins
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 20:00:28 PST)
Ilya Kovalchuk never got frustrated about his lack of scoring production since joining the New Jersey Devils. "To me, it's all about winning," said Kovalchuk, who had a goal and two assists Friday night to help the Devils beat Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh 3-1. "It's nice to score a goal and help others to score, but it's more important to win.

One win doesn't convince Devils all is right
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 09:35:22 PST)
With a month left in the regular season, the New Jersey Devils are somewhat of a question mark. There is little doubt that Jacques Lemaire's team is going to the postseason for the 13th consecutive season. The head scratcher is which team is going to show up. Will it be the one that had the best record in the Eastern Conference from mid-December to mid-January or the one that has slipped over...
