Capitals Team Report
(Mon, 01 Dec 2008 00:17:46 PST)
The Caps have Sunday off—and they sure can use it.
After playing seven games in 11 days, the Caps get a break. They looked tired throughout their 3-0 loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday and will get a chance to recharge their batteries.
The schedule-maker and luck weren't on the team's side in recent days. Going to California, then the Midwest, then Washington and then Columbus in a week—with at least eight players out with injuries—is not an easy proposition.
Still, the Caps played well and could have won this game, but goaltender Steve Mason took charge for the Blue Jackets and pulled it out, almost on his own.
The Caps clearly looked tired in the third period, but that's to be expected after a stretch like this one.
