Capitals Team Report
(Sat, 21 Nov 2009 00:39:53 PST)
Injuries are starting to become a problem for the Caps.
They're missing seven players with health issues now that defenseman Tom Poti came out of Friday's 3-2 loss with some kind of injury that, of course, the team won't disclose.
The problem now is how the Caps can deal with it starting with Saturday's game with the Leafs.
Poti's upper body problem appears to be a day-to-day thing, but he didn't play after leaving in the second period. The veteran is an anchor on defense.
Milan Jurcina (muscle pull) and Shaone Morrisonn (upper body) probably will be out for a few games. That's three defensemen out. The Caps brought up John Carlson to make his NHL debut, and he did fine, nearly scoring.
Alexander Semin (wrist) also is out through the weekend.
