Jets Team Report
(Thu, 20 Nov 2008 21:03:17 PST)
Brett Favre doesn't really want to think about what happens after this season is over. But he doesn't have much of a choice, because everyone keeps asking the Jets quarterback about it.
"I haven't even thought about it," Favre said Wednesday when the possibility of playing for the Jets in 2009 was brought up. "I played last week (at New England) like I expect to play. I played at a high level, but that's what they brought me in here to do. I expect to play like that every week, and hope to. I have people, friends, family, who ask me all the time about next year. The answer I give them, which is the honest answer, is I really don't know. I really don't know and to be totally honest with you, I really don't care.

The Seahawks placed Patrick Kerney on injured reserve Wednesday, ending the season for Seattle's top pass rusher. Kerney had shoulder surgery earlier this month. He injured it in a win at San Francisco on Oct. 26. It's the same left shoulder on which Kerney had surgery last offseason to repair cartilage damage.
Next season not even a thought for Jets' Favre
(Wed, 19 Nov 2008 12:49:22 PST)
Brett Favre is having too much fun leading the first-place New York Jets to even think about next season. "I don't see how anyone, aside from you guys, can focus on next year when what we're trying to do right now is win and do something this year," Favre told reporters Wednesday. "I'm 39 years old. I know the better days are behind me, for the most part.
Steelers try to cover spread this week
(Wed, 19 Nov 2008 12:03:26 PST)
The fans who bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers last week were done a disservice by the zebras, although the NFL's apology for the bad call never mentioned that it kept the Steelers from covering the spread. The spread is bigger for Thursday night's game at Heinz Field, but the opponent is easier: the Cincinnati Bengals, who managed to play Philadelphia to the first tie the NFL has had in six...

First-place Jets begin preparing for 10-0 Titans
(Mon, 17 Nov 2008 16:26:21 PST)
The New York Jets had a few days off to celebrate their big win at New England and get away from football for a little while. The break's over now. Next stop: undefeated Tennessee. "They don't make a lot of mistakes," coach Eric Mangini said Monday of the 10-0 Titans. "They haven't turned the ball over much offensively and they've been able to generate a lot of turnovers defensively, and that always...

(Sat, 15 Nov 2008 10:35:22 PST)

But everything might not be quite as OK as Jerry Jones and his team think. The Cowboys' quarterback began practicing this week, a month after breaking the pinkie on his throwing hand.

Thomas hurt his arm in last Sunday's 20-10 win over the Buffalo Bills but has not been placed on injured reserve, which would have ended his season.
