Located next to a couple of abandoned airport runways on top of a soybean field sits the biggest, fastest and most competitive Motorsports facility in the world. For the last 35 years this has been known as Talladega Superspeedway. Talladega is 2.66 miles long with stock cars reaching speeds of 220 miles per hour.

A lot of records have been set at Talladega Superspeedway. In the 70's David Pearson became the first driver to win three consecutive races at Talladega. Since then Cale Yarborough and Davey Allison also won three NEXTEL races. However, Dale Earnhardt holds the most wins at Talladega with 13 career victories.

After recent expansion of the O.V. Hill South Tower, the track at Talladega seats more than 143,500 fans. Even after many changes over its 35 years in existence Talladega is still the most competitive track in racing.
